Salone del Mobile Milan 2016: just back from a week at the Fuori Salone, where we showed our first collection : the Fade To Grey wallpaper by Alix Waline and the Waiting For The Sun cushions by Alix Waline & Sabatina Leccia.
Fade To Grey wallpaper
Alix Waline is an artist – generally she paints murals directly on walls. She works frequently with interior designers Gilles & Boissier and has drawn murals in the Kinugawa restaurants and the Chess Hotel in Paris. Alix is inspired by inner visions of the human body as well as Romantic era landscapes.
Whilst the wallpaper is very different from Alix’s murals, it does look more like artwork than wallpaper. During the fair we had to repeatedly explain that it is digitally printed – not hand painted !

Alix likens her drawing to a form of embroidery, seeing the brush strokes as stitches forming an abstract landscape.
The Waiting For The Sun collection mixes Alix Waline’s drawings with Sabatina Leccia’s embroidery. The design is digitally printed on cotton. Both the wallpaper and cushion fabric is printed in England, to the highest quality.
We were lucky enough to have Sabatina Leccia give an embroidery demonstration on direct from the stand.
The cushions can be embroidered in any colour – so don’t hesitate to let us know if you would like us to match a specific hue.
