If you are in Paris this week, go and visit Private Choice Paris – an imaginary collector’s apartment filled with art and design. Founded by Nadia Candet, Private Choice is now in its fourth year. Each year sees a different collection, in a different space. This year’s edition is held this week, to coincide with the FIAC, in a traditional Parisian apartment a stone’s throw from the Grand Palais and the Champs Elysées. Previous venues have included film-maker George Méliès’ house and Atélier Rouart, the home of Berthe Morisot, the Manet family and Paul Valéry.
Nadia Candet’s objective is to “create stories in a historical place”. Herself a collector and director of the book “Collections Particulières” for Flammarion, Candet’s forte is her selection, a joyous blend of established names with young Art School graduates.
This year’s theme : “Nothing is true, everything is permitted”.
