DOUBLE-SIDED FREE STANDING MIRROR JOIA by Studio Daniel K
The numbered edition Joia Mirror questions beauty in rigid shapes, creating tension between material weight and lightness of lines.
Named for "joy" in Italian, this piece aptly embodies its namesake by radiating a sense of lightness, playfulness, and audacity.
With its geometric shapes delicately balanced, it stands as a sculpture at the intersection of art and function. Spheres of translucent stones finish this double-sided piece, resembling gemstones in jewellery.
The Joia Mirror is part of the "Antechamber" collection, the inaugural series of collectible furniture by Studio Daniel K, founded in 2023 by Polish designer Daniel Kolodziejczak. It offers a first glimpse into its creative universe.
Daniel Kolodziejczak spent eight years in jewelry design before establishing his studio. Stones continues to play a pivotal role in his furniture pieces, merging influences from Brazilian and Italian Modernism with the rawness of Polish Brutalism and the elegance of Paris. "The collection itself challenges the beauty found in rigid and austere materials, transforming earth-sourced materials into geometric and structural forms," Kolodziejczak explains.
