Shelf Alcove - Module 2 by Oros.
The Alcove wall shelf offers a contemporary perspective on wooden furniture combined with straw weaving. Conceived by designer Sacha Parent - who is fascinated by the shine, vibrations, and flexibility of straw that he wants to see reintegrated into our interiors - it provides privileged spaces for everyday objects.
Available in several modules, the Alcove wall shelf has been designed as a modular element. With one side offering a longer shelf space than the other, it can be mounted in either direction according to needs and preferences. It comes in 2 other dimensions, allowing you to combine different modules to create your own wall composition. Versatile, it can be placed in a bathroom or kitchen, used as a simple bookshelf, or even as a bedside table. Easily fixed to the wall with the appropriate screws and dowels provided.
The choice of materials and production methods lies at the heart of this project. In Occitanie, the wood grows near the place where it is cut and processed in a woodworking workshop that handles the shaping stages of the material. The straw is harvested in Saône et Loire. Extremely resistant, it is always cut by hand to preserve its full length. These materials then come together in Marseille at the Oros studio for the assembly stage.
Laure Amoros founded Oros in 2015, with the mission to perpetuate her father's passion for wood. Oros strives to preserve traditional techniques, explore their evolution, and promote contemporary creation, while preserving the essence of wood. Each item is crafted in small series, sometimes made to order, to better meet demand and encourage responsible consumption.
