La Mère serving plate, Serax. 

La Mère, Marie Michielssen's first line of ceramic dinner services, is an affectionate ode to the maternal figure and to women in general. The service appears slightly nostalgic, yet is innovative in many ways thanks to its vertical structure.

All pieces are finished with a glaze in off-white or warm dark brown, almost black. As a third contrasting color, Marie opted for a powerful Venetian red. The designer also deliberately chose these colors to create a mix & match of white and dark brown or red and dark brown.

Each shape is unique and hand-modelled.
