COUQUETO TABLE LIGHT by Margaux Keller
Couqueto Table Light, Margaux Keller.
Margaux Keller presents a design that is embodied and almost personified, where the ancestral craftsmanship of the French lampshade is reinterpreted to create a sculptural and heart-stopper luminous object.
The Couqueto table light pays homage to the traditional Provençal eponymous headdress, which was particularly worn by the bourgeoisie and affluent artisans in Marseille during the 19th century. The headdress serves as an essential element of folk costume, allowing one to discern at a glance the origin of the wearer. Furthermore, it is the element that has persisted longest as an original component of traditional attire.
This table light is an elegant piece, entirely fashioned from fabric, that emits a warm and comforting light. Crafted in a lampshade workshop in the south of France, each light is unique and features a brass hallmark.
