INDIGO LANTERN by Taiwan-Lantern

Indigo lantern, Taiwan-Lantern. 

Taiwan Lantern work with Taiwan's last traditional lantern factory. Each lantern is made by hand by skilled artisans. A single lantern involves 190 different processes and takes five to six weeks - from harvesting the bamboo to create the spokes to dyeing the fabrics by hand.

Indigo dye is one of Taiwan's centuries-old traditions. The artist who makes the fabrics used for the lantern shades grows and harvests his own fresh Indigofera Tinctoria plants in central Taiwan. Each shade is hand dyed more than 20 times, creating a deep rich colour. 

The lantern frames are made in walnut and bamboo. 

Bulb specification : E27, 40W (not included). A porcelain ceiling rose and 2 meters of fabric cable are included.

The Indigo Lantern is handcrafted and may slightly vary in shape, hue and character. The lantern has a SGS Colour Fastness to Light Grade 4 certificate.
