The Grès collection is handcrafted in France.
Created by stylist / photographer Aurélie Lecuyer, the "sensitive, sincere, solid" collection is imbued with a raw poetry and a deliberately rough appearance.
Aurélie began by collecting vintage French ceramic lamps. Noting that they were becoming increasingly difficult to source, she sketched out a few models of her own. Aurélie then went in search of a ceramicist capable of making the pieces. She chose to work with Benoît Audureau, who understood perfectly what she was looking for.
“I was looking for a specific mat glaze,” explains Aurélie. "Benoit doesn't work with traditional preparations, he makes his own clay with mixtures that he collects near his home."
The lamps have a primitive feel. They are fired several times, which gives them an incomparable texture.
The lampshades are hand-woven by Aurélie, in cotton or jute.
