Form and Refine is a Danish brand founded in 2018 by Helle Herman Mortensen, Jonas Herman Pedersen and Lasse Lund Lauridsen. The three founders are proud to build upon the Nordic design tradition: honoring and acknowledging those who came before, yet also breaking new ground. They value aesthetics, function and materials equally and never compromise on quality. Their aim: to create items that age beautifully and refine through generations.
Their designs are modest but recognizable by their details and clear silhouettes.
Form and Refine believe in sustainability: they try to limit transport by manufacturing their pieces close to where the materials are sourced. In this way, oak, maple and ash sourced in the Damsbo forest on the island of Funen in Denmark is made into furniture by skilled Danish artisans; clay sourced from the Alcobaça region of Portugal is made into vases in the skilled hands of local Portuguese potters.
Form and Refine manufacture in small batches, working in partnership with local workshops and cooperatives, thus helping to preserve the European craft tradition and at the same time limiting their CO2 footprint.
