Landy Rakoto | Chiara Colombini

Landy Rakoto shapes clay as one would explore a language - a dialogue between hand, material, and time. A ceramic designer based in the Pays de la Loire, she sees her craft as a spiritual pursuit through gesture, seeking the extraordinary in everyday objects.

Rakoto's work navigates rustic, brutalist, and classical forms, with a particular focus on organic textures and bold yet inherently comfortable volumes. She is fascinated by the ancestral craft of pottery, practiced by humans for thousands of years.

After beginning her journey in Berlin, working in a communal studio and alongside Jérémy Bellina, she established her own atelier in 2021 in Brissac-Quincé, Anjou. Here she is able to concentrate on making objects that are both beautiful and functional. As Rakoto explains in her own words "what really makes sense to me today is durability, sustainability, and the touch of the human hand..."

Rakoto's ceramics are designed to transcend time - where simplicity meets strength, and balance meets character.
