Sculptor above all, Eric de Dormael makes lights that are both poetic and architectural. Fascinated by the play of reflections and the play of shadows, he founded Ombre Portée in 1998.
Since its creation, Ombre Portée has been recognized in the world of luxury and high-end interior design for its bespoke custom lighting, meticulously crafted by hand in France.
Brass remains de Dormael's material of choice; timeless and malleable, it takes form following the inspiration of the designer. Brushed, it emits a soft light; when polished, it creates bright shimmers.
Finally, it is of course the shadow, created by the very structure of each piece and by the multiplication of light sources, which is the fundamental element in each design.
