TITA TABLE by Alan Louis
Tita table, Alan Louis.
The Tita table is made by hand in chamotte (containing grains of sand). The clay is fired between two and three times at temperatures between 800 and 1400 degrees, a process which solidifies the clay, making the table as strong as if it were made of stone...
It is through a work of assembly, modeling, sculpture and the different firings that the tables come to life. Clay is an almost "living" material due to the changes in the material between drying and firing. This make the curves slightly irregular and the dimensions may vary slightly. Each table is unique.
The base of the table comes in ceramic and the top in unpolished white marble.
Each table is numbered and signed by the designer.
