POUSSES DE SOL SCULPTURE by Safia Hijos

Pousses de Sol sculpture, Safia Hijos.

The ceramic Pousses de Sol sculpture can be placed on a fireplace, a shelf, or directly on the floor. The sculpture consists of 4 separate pieces, each 14cm long. It can be placed in a straight line, or made to curve around a corner as pictured.

In the words of Thibaut Wauthion: "Running alongst, or appearing in the middle of walls, the plants and minerals of Safia Hijos suggest as much the resilience of nature as the impossibility of controlling the latter which always manages to find a way through, even when you least expect it."

A graduate of ENSAV- La Cambre in Brussels, the French artist Safia Hijos lives and works in Nîmes, in the south of France.
